According to MetalSucks, The Superior Court of California in the County of Los Angeles has granted personal trainer and fitness model Whitney Johns a two-year domestic violence restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, Bad Wolves vocalist Tommy Vext.
The restraining order comes after a five-day virtual trial in Los Angeles, which was overseen by Judge Joshua D. Wayser.
The established outlet reports that Johns had previously filed for, and was granted, a temporary order on the 17th April. The temporary order was extended several times due to delays in the court proceedings caused by both the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and requests by Vext’s attorney.
In a statement given to MetalSucks, Johns’ attorney alleges that an attorney for Vext made arguments in court on behalf of his client that “sent us not back decades but centuries in their inappropriate and unacceptable attitudes towards victims of domestic abuse.”
In a series of court documents obtained by the established outlet and published earlier this month, Johns alleges that Vext assaulted her numerous times “both during and after the relationship.” You can find out more about the court documents and her allegations here.
After the publication of the court documents, via MetalSucks initially, the Bad Wolves frontman denied the allegations calling them “fake news” in a series of social media posts and later released a brief statement. You can read Vext’s statement in full below:
“The allegations made against me by my former girlfriend are not true. Given the ongoing civil dispute between us, I am not at liberty to say any more at this time. I look forward to resolving this matter in court.”
However, in a later interview with The Tin Foil Show, Vext called Johns’ allegations “an extortion attempt,” claiming that he was a victim of a “cancel culture” as a result of his support for Donald Trump and his suggestion that the Black Lives Matter movement is a left-wing sham.
