How did you become a band?

We are actually all strangers who met online. Emma was looking for a band, posted about it on Facebook, and each of us replied and auditioned. It is amazing how ‘stranger danger’ completely went out the door when we auditioned hahaha.

Where did the name of the band originate from?

It comes from a Neck Deep song! We are all Neck Deep fans and couldn’t find a name so we decided to use lyrics from a song we all liked. If anyone knows what song it comes from, I will give you a hi five!

Can you tell us about the band’s lineup? Who’s who?

Emma Mather (vocals)
Ryo Sprott (guitar/backing vocals)
Sarah Bonnet (bass)
Dwayne Morris (drums)

Individually, can you tell us what your favourite part about being a band is?

For this question, each of us was meant to come up with an answer, but we realised that all our answers were pretty much the same. Our favourite part about being in a band is the fact that your bandmates become your friends and you get to spend time and build something with them. You genuinely create a little family unit which makes it so much more fun and way less lonely. Being in a band just gives you an excuse to see your best friends at least oncxe a week really.

Individually, can you tell us what the biggest misconception people have about being in a band?

Being in a band is way more than writing and playing music. When you are in a “small” band, you’re a musician, a business and marketing person…you do everything!

Can you give us an overview of the band’s discography?

We released our debut EP ‘Shattered Glass’ at the start of this year. Following the release of ‘Shattered Glass’, we released two singles called ‘The Fire’ and ‘Save Yourself’.

What sets you apart from all the other bands in the genre?

I think what sets us apart is that we really like trying to surprise people. Our last single ‘The Fire’ was really poppy and the aesthetic was colourful and happy. After it was released, we were like ‘What could we do that people wouldn’t expect from us at all?’ and we decided to release ‘Save Yourself’ which is emo and dark: the opposite of ‘The Fire’. We think that music is all about keeping it fresh and not doing the same thing twice.

Can you tell us about the band’s future plans?

We are already working on new music. We want to write and release more songs that people can relate to. Then as soon as shows come back, we want to play a lot of shows!

Can you tell us where readers can check out your music?

Absolutely! You can find us everywhere online! Links can be found below:
