This must have taken some time to say the least. Reddit user u/WhutFunAwMan has found an NBA reference for almost every sentence of Blink-182’s classic song ‘All The Small Things’.
Here are just a few references the reddit user found for certain sentences of the track:
All The Small Things:
- This is the opening line for the song and the parallel could be many things, it can be a player like Joel Anthony doing all the “small things” needed to win the championship in 2012 and 2013.
- Anthony averaged less than 3.2 points during the 2012 playoff run but played 19.4 minutes per game and even started a game.
- Anthony shows that a player does not need to do flashy things like score points and dunk the ball in order to be effective and they just need to do the small things in order to be an effective NBA player.
Say It Aint So, I Will Not Go:
- During the 2015 Free Agency DeAndre Jordan verbally commited to a 5 year, 80-million-dollar contract with the Dallas Mavericks but the LA Clippers successfully convinced Jordan to come back to the Clippers.
- The Clippers said “say it ain’t so” meaning don’t say yes and Jordan said “I will not go” which he did not and decided to stay a Clipper for the time being.
Turn The Lights Off, Carry Me Home:
- This could relate to the multiple times a NBA player had to be carried off the court because of an injury, as the “lights” and “turned off” as players typically have there eyes closed because of the pain they are experiencing and they most likely have to be “carried” home as they cannot walk on their own.
- Two Examples that come to mind is when Julius Randle broke his leg during his NBA debut (Rockets@Lakers) and had to be carried off using a stretcher.
- And when Chris Webber Tore His ACL in 2003 and had to be carried off in a vehicle.
Na Na, Na Na, Na Na, Na Na, Na, Na, Na Na, Na Na, Na Na, Na Na, Na, Na, Na Na, Na Na, Na Na, Na Na, Na, Na, Na Na, Na Na, Na Na, Na Na, Na, Na:
